Documents Required for Taiwan Visa

Indians applying for a Taiwan visa must have the following documents:

1. Passport with a minimum validity of 6 months.
2. Return or onward air or ferry ticket.
3. Apart from the 2 documents mentioned above, the visa applicant should have one of the following documents:
4. Valid permanent resident card or resident card of Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, any Schengen nation, US or UK.
5. Valid entry visa of Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, any Schengen nation, US or UK.
6. Visa or resident card of Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, any Schengen nation, US or UK, that has been expired for below 10 years.

Taiwan Visa Requirements for Employed Individuals

• Last three months’ salary slip 
• Leave sanction certificate from the company with company seal

Taiwan Visa Guidelines for Minors

• Identification proof of the parents 
• Birth certificate of the minor 

• In case of death of any of the parent or both, death certificate must be provided 
• A notarized letter of consent from both parents as permission of travel, in case the child is travelling without either parent or alone

• Must have at least one blank page in your passport for visa stamp 
• Passport must be valid for six months beyond the intended stay 

• Passport should be in good condition and there should not be any missing or damaged pages 

Photo Requirements 

The following are the photograph requirements for Taiwan visa: 

• Size of the photograph should be 2 inches by 2 inches (51mm x 51mm) 
• Must have normal attire without any headgear or uniform 

• The colour should have a clear balance of contrast and should be clear and focused 
• Photo must have neutral expression with closed mouth and eyes open 
• Background should be clear, white, or light-coloured 
• Head positing should be facing forward, and entire face should be visible 

How to Apply for a Taiwan Visa Through the Embassy?

The following are the steps to apply for Taiwan visa through embassy: 

• Visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain the visa application form 
• Ensure you have all the required documents 
• Make an appointment at the nearest Taiwan embassy 
• Submit the application in-person 

• Submit all the documents 
• Make the visa fee payment 

After successful verification of the documents, the embassy will approve your visa application form. After approval, the embassy will contact you once the visa is ready, when you can visit the embassy to obtain your visa. 

Important Points

The following are some of the significant points related to Taiwan Visa for Indians: 

• The Visa applicant should not have a history of being employed as a blue-collar worker in Taiwan.
• The entry Visa does not include work permit.
• Applicants should have a valid regular passport to apply. Temporary, informal or emergency passports will not be accepted.
• Travel documents, which are not the passport, will not be accepted.
• The applicants who have permanent resident card without an expiration date may enter:
  • 9999 in the year section.
  • 12 in the month section.
  • 31 in the date section.
• If applicants make an error during the application process, they can submit a fresh application.
• The applicants must print their ROC Travel Authorization Certificate after their applications have been approved. They must show this certificate when they reach Taiwan. People who do not have this document will not be allowed to enter the country.
• The ROC Travel Authorization Certificate will be valid for 90 days and it allows multiple entry. The certificate holder can stay in Taiwan for 30 days, starting from the day after he/she arrives. If he/she wants to apply for another Travel Authorization Certificate, then the same must be done 7 days before the present one expires.
